Find the Perfect Wedding or Quinceanera Location! In the Red Rocks, in the park or in your favorite vortex! | Where to find formal gowns and dresses? | Rings, Flowers, Photographers, Singers, Music and Doves! |
The first thing a couple needs for a legal Arizona marriage is a marriage license. Marriage licenses are issued by all Arizona County governments and can be used anytime up to one year from the date of issue anywhere in the state of Arizona.
Find the locations to apply for your marriage license by consulting the phone directory under Government Listings. Go to the County section and look for the heading Marriage Licenses.
The fee charged for a marriage license in the State of Arizona is currently $50. For an additional charge you can have a certified copy of your marriage license mailed to you after it is recorded.
Be sure to take your driver licenses or some other valid forms of ID when you apply for your marriage license. If both parties are not able to apply in person, call the issuing authority to find out what is required in the way of power of attorney, etc. The phone number for all marriage license information in Maricopa County is: 602-506-3762.
To apply for a marriage license by mail and receive it by mail, go to www.maricopa.gov/clkcourt and click on marriage licenses for instructions and a mail in form. Mail delivery can take up to six weeks. (NOTE: On March 5, 2004, mail-in service was suspended to prevent invalid issues of licenses to same-sex couples. Special arrangements have since been made to facilitate the issuance of licenses to prison inmates. Call us for information or check with the inmates' counselor.)
Under Maricopa County, you will find listings for 601 W. Jackson Street, Phoenix and 222 E. Javelina, Mesa. The Jackson Street location is 2 blocks south of Jefferson and east of 7th Avenue. East Javelina, in Mesa, is just north of Baseline, west of Mesa Drive/McQueen.
